Artwork Description

In this foretelling artwork, didierpi presents a vision of the future that hovers between hope and darkness. The weathered animals aboard the Ark silently cling to optimism, yearning for a sign of grace from a transcendent force. This quiet hope persists amid the apocalyptic consequences of humanity’s failure to address irreversible climate change.

The rainbow, once a vibrant symbol of the covenant between God and humanity, fades into a melancholic remnant. The left side of the composition is bathed in luminance, suggesting the presence of a higher power, as the Ark drifts toward an encroaching shadow. The Ark’s reflections and ripples imply buoyancy, yet the discordant clouds hint at uncertainty. The vessel appears to move toward the unknown, possibly even ascending beyond the world it was meant to save.
